Privacy policy

Short version: I don't sell your data, and I don't load Google Analytics without your consent. I do collect data when you fill in the contact form or book an introduction call, and I measure visitor numbers without cookies. Here's exactly what happens.

Visiting the site

I use Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights to see how many people visit the site and how fast pages load. That works without cookies: visitors aren't tracked individually, and after 24 hours a session can no longer be traced. I see counts per page, country and device type, not who you are.

If you consent via the banner at the bottom of the page, I also load Google Analytics. Without that consent, no Google script runs on the page. You can withdraw consent at any time via "Cookie preferences" in the footer.

Vercel, my hosting provider, processes technical data needed to keep the site running, like IP addresses in server logs, the same as any web host. That happens at the infrastructure level, outside my direct control.

Contact form

The contact form runs through Formspree, a US-based form-processing service. The name, email address, subject and message you enter go to Formspree, which forwards them to me by email. For the transfer to the US, Formspree relies on Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs), the standard GDPR safeguard.

Booking an introduction (or requesting custom work)

If you book an introduction call, I ask for your name, email address and, depending on your choices, phone number, company name and a short description. That data ends up in:

• my calendar (Google Calendar), including a Google Meet link for a video call
• a confirmation email to you and an internal notification to me, both sent via Resend
• an internal Slack notification, so I know quickly that a new appointment came in
• my own database (hosted at Turso), together with your IP address and browser information, as proof that you agreed to the processing of your data for this appointment

When booking, I also run a brief check through Cloudflare Turnstile to keep out spam and bots. Turnstile processes your IP address and some technical browser information for that.

Requesting custom work instead uses the same storage and the same parties. An AI agent can also book an introduction or submit a request on your behalf, through a technical interface at /bot; that runs through exactly the same storage as above.

How long I keep data

I don't keep booking and contact data longer than needed. Concretely: two years after your appointment or message, after which I delete it.

Your rights

You can always ask what I've recorded about you, have it corrected, or have it deleted. If you disagree with how I handle your data, you can file a complaint with the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens, the Dutch data protection authority.
